About us

Mjelva Camping and Hytter is  located 3 km from Åndalsnes with beautiful views to the most famous mountains in Romsdalen:

Romsdalshorn, Trolltindene, Vengetindene, Bispen, Kongen and Dronninga.

It is a short distance from us to the fantastic Trollstigen, and a good starting point for day trips such as: Atlantic Road, Geiranger, Molde, Ålesund, Kristiansund and Eikesdalen.

Family run

Mjelva Camping og Hytter started in 1964 and is a family-run campsite in scenic surroundings. We have 20 cabins, 9 of which are high standard. See more information here.

Practical information

The cabins have duvets and pillows. Bring linen or you can rent for the 130 NOK kit.

You can also bring a sleeping bag.

We have pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents. We can offer 55 pitches with electricity. The campsite has no numbered pitches so that each one gets plenty of space.

The campsite has a chemical toilette, washer / dryer, gray water drainage, kitchen, handicap room and changing room / family room. We also have a charging station for electric cars and a defibrillator.

We can offer many activities, and we help with recommendations and advice for hiking and day trips.

Waste sorting.

From January 2023, all companies are required to sort their waste.

We, at Mjelva Camping og Hytter, have arranged for the sorting of cardboard/paper, plastic, food waste/bio-waste, glass/metal and residual waste. All bins are marked. You will find all the waste bins at one station. The station is located right next to the kitchen and directly opposite the sanitary building.

Plastic, glass and metal must be cleaned before delivery in their bins. In food waste/bio-waste, only food waste also green degradable bags can be used.

Hope everyone will contribute to a good and correct sorting with regard to the environment and camping management. Thank you for your attention.

Welcome to us, welcome to Mjelva Camping and Cottages.
